Created soon after Ken Russell's THE DEVILS, Gilberto Martinez Solares was at the forefront of the nunsploitation craze, which was a marked departure from the family comedies he had become known for. This classic of the genre is shot in stunningly rich, saturated colors, creating a sensual world of orgiastic depravity. Cecilia Pezet delivers an enthusiastic performance as Sister Maria, the character that inspired Salma Hayek's sexy vampire in Quentin Tarrantino's FROM DUSK TIL DAWN.
