What Diana and Regina don’t know is shown to the audience early on–the mad artist Claus Tiller is indeed behind the abduction/murders for the sake of his craft–though his werewolf-like servant Morpho does the actual dirty work.

As expected, this look at sexual angst is a cut above the usual softcore fare of its day. Written and directed by JOE SARNO during his European softcore period, Love in the Third Position eschews the gritty black & white look of the filmmaker’s early American films in favor of a more vibrant kaleidoscope of sumptuous pastel colors which gives off a very dreamlike feel.

Beautiful blonde LILIANE MALMQUIST (who bears a resemblance to French starlet Brigitte Lahaie) is wonderfully seductive as fashion photographer Siv, who is having a wild fling with her favorite model Sven, much to the agony of her shy, plain-looking young assistant Ann, who’s clearly in love with the man herself. (Watch how Sarno constantly photographs Ann surrounded by darkness and low light, compared to the bright, upbeat colors which pulsate throughout the other sequences). While Ann sits around brooding in her gloomy apartment. Siv and her galpal Lisa (who looks like Barbara Streisand in her tight perm days) accompany blonde model Karin to a strange house where two gorgeously bizarre women initiate Karin into the joys of lesbianism and an orgy of female flesh.

After waking up in a large bed together, it’s back to work for the three women. Siv returns to the studio and continues her dalliance with Sven, who finally starts to realize that Ann has a crush on him. Sven and Ann begin to spend more time together, playfully flirting and laughing, but when Sven makes a move on her, Ann tells him to take a hike.

Siv, meanwhile, becomes more and more intrigued by Ann and decides to finally seduce her late one night in the studio: “I always feel your eyes on me whenever we’re alone….” Ann is initially repulsed by the proposition, but eventually succumbs to Siv’s seduction, and becomes so erotically overcharged that she frantically masturbates as soon as their lovemaking session is over.

But as it often does in Sarno’s films, sexual guilt soon begins to manifest itself, with Ann wandering around her flat disturbed by her encounter with Siv and refusing to go to work. Siv, on the other hand, begins to realize that she has fallen in love with Ann and ultimately decides to do something about it….

Nicely photographed by ERIK GUSTAVSSON, Love In The Third Position also features some rather affecting performances from the female leads. (The actors aren’t great, but they at least do their best to make their characters seem honest and dimensional). The movie is also genuinely erotic, with Sarno filming many of the sex scenes without any music or sounds save for the heavy panting of turned-on breath. The soundtrack also makes good use of three electric pop songs (“Is There a Place?,” “You’re No Good,” and “Ain’t Got Time”) performed by an obscure duo named GORAN & JANNIE.

"I like the accuracy of this film, the plot is not completely fresh or inventive but the portrayal of life in 2006 as a Spanish youth is. Some films transcend time, sometimes time transcends a film. "Yo Soy La Juani" reminds me of "Valley of the Dolls," I have no idea what it was like to be alive in 1968 but after "Valley of the Dolls" I was able to peer at life then through the voice of the film and the fashion/aesthetics of the set. Though the rawness and honesty in this film are not very shocking in 2010, this film is reminiscent of the 1995 film "Kids." You get to see what young kids do and the issues they are forced to deal with. If you're looking for a life changing experience this movie is not for you, however, if you want a glimpse into what it's like to be in your early twenties in this part of the world, this movie is great. "

A Japanese policewoman is raped by a black-gloved truck driver in a very stylish and unsettling rape scene.After the sexual assault the woman becomes obsessed with rough sex and rape. "Attacked!" is not as vicious as "Assault! Jack the Ripper" or "Rape!13th Hour", but sleaze comes quick and heavy in this misogynistic exploitation classic. The classical score is awesome and welcome change from usual jazz scores of Hasebe's violent pink flicks. For fans of Nikkatsu's Roman Pornos or pinku eiga cinema in general "Attacked!" is a must-see.

Distributed by Dwain Esper, the notorious madman behind MANIAC and MARIHUANA, FORBIDDEN ADVENTURE, better known as ANGKOR, is an incredible hodge-podge of stock footage, National Geographic travelogue scenes, and inserted topless shots of L.A. prostitutes being harassed by a guy in an ape suit. The film’s story begins with a meeting of the Los Angeles Adventurers’ Club, a fictional group if there ever was one, who proceed to screen a film put together with footage shot by two explorers, who later died in the first World War. The men reportedly ventured into Cambodia in 1911 and returned in 1914, and the producers edited all their footage together into a feature film. After spending time in a local village, they hire guides to help them trek into the jungle to find the forbidden city of Angkor, where an ancient treasure resides and its million inhabitants mysteriously disappeared. Along the way they encounter killer crocodiles, playful monkeys, natives performing fire rituals, an insane Buddhist claiming to be the reincarnated king of Angkor (!), giant monitor lizards and pythons, and a vicious tiger fight. Once they reach the lost city, they find the ruins inhabited by bloodthirsty bats, a regal peacock (huh?), a killer cobra, and a giant ape that proceeds to have its way with the explorers’ female guides!

This haphazardly-created travelogue is like Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom with tits. Substitute Marlin Perkins and Jim Fowler for the no-name actors in fuzzy fake beards here, and you'd have a craven carbon copy of that nature-loving nonsense. Using lots of topless gals, a series of white hunter safari slaughter scenes(***), and a healthy dose of noticeable rear projection, this scientific expedition to the lost city of Angkor is just an excuse to see semi-clad gals getting down with dudes in ape suits. Indeed, the main premise of the movie has a pair of scholars searching for the legendary locale in order to prove out their theory that a once-great civilization was horribly undermined by an unnatural desire for monkey lovin'. Using a series of frescoes and some incredibly crappy reenactments, our narrating guide concludes that the women of Angkor, under the sway of a slave in a gorilla disguise, were taught the forbidden ways of simian sensuality. You know what they say—once you go ape, there's really no escape.

The native girls here were rumored to be prostitutes from a regional brothel who got angry when filmmakers demanded they work past their allotted $10 time limit. When people started questioning the film's authenticity, roadshow regular Dwayne Esper (who had acquired the film) made sure that the narrative indicated that there were some factual recreations and truth-twisting involved. The sense of seriousness is further muffled by the random insertion of superimposed foliage over the naked naughty bits. In order to avoid censorship complaints, big black silhouettes of ferns and grass were created to cover-up our jungle gal's corporeal coconuts. Unfortunately, all this faked fauna did was turn Forbidden Adventure into a perverted peek-a-boo game. One can just imagine the members of the raincoat crowd squinting and shifting to get a good glimpse of what is barely blocked out to begin with. It turns an otherwise nominal exploitation entry into something stunningly surreal.

One night Crimson rapes a ballerina with the help of a young gas station worker. Crimson's accomplice can't climax,but his thoughts about rape are overwhelming. Soon the series of brutal rapes is set in motion... "Rape!13th Hour" by Yasuharu Hasebe is not as disturbing as 1976's "Assault!Jack the Ripper", however it features lots of rape and hard misogyny. This controversial pink film is perhaps one of the most extreme Nikkatsu rape movies. The climax which takes place in an empty swimming pool is truly nihilistic and evil. The acting is solid, the women are attractive and there are some tense moments. A must-see for fans of depraved exploitation cinema
